MEHLING - Janice Mehling, beloved wife of Cliff Mehling of the Yorkton district passed away on Tuesday March 3, 2015 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre at the age of fifty-five. Janice Louise Horgas was born June 11, 1959 in Yorkton. She attended grade 1 at Jedburgh School then Willowbrook School till grade 8 & on to the Yorkton Composite, graduating from the Yorkton Regional High School. While in high school she worked at K-Mart, after graduating she began work at Yorkton City Hall, she continued to work there as a payroll administrator for nearly 38 years until her health failed last year. She married Clifford Mehling, August 5, 1978, and they were blessed with two daughters, Dawn and Janelle. She enjoyed gardening in her flower garden, camping, fishing & campfire get togethers with friends at Whitesand Regional Park. She was predeceased by her brother, Richard Horgas in 1984. Janice leaves to cherish her memory, husband, Clifford; daughters, Dawn Mehling & Janelle Mehling, of Yorkton; parents, Bert and Esther (nee Mauer) Horgas of Yorkton; grandchildren, Zowee Mydonick & Jayden Durham of Yorkton; sister, Sandra Buenneke (Mark) of Yorkton; brothers, Ken (Leona) of Red Cliff, AB and Robert (Anita) of Willowbrook, SK; nieces & nephews; Reagen Horgas (Alicia), Shaylynn Horgas, Ashley, Tyler & Kallie Buenneke, as well as her godparents, Gilbert and Louise Lang. In Celebration for the Life of Janice Mehling A visitation for family and friends was held from the Chapel of Bailey's Funeral Home in Yorkton on Sunday, March 8, 2015. Funeral Services were held on Monday, March 9, 2015 from St. Paul Lutheran Church in Yorkton with Ray Yost officiating. The organist, Carla Laycock led the congregation in the singing of the hymns ‘Precious Lord, Take My Hand', ‘In The Garden' and ‘Softly and Tenderly'. Tributes and words of remembrance were given by daughter, Dawn Mehling and Janice's co-worker, Chris Wenzel. A special musical selection ‘Angels Among Us' by Alabama was the recessional music. Interment followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Ronald Mehling, George Mehling, Ken Horgas, Keith Lang, David Lang and Mark Buenneke.
