Obituary
Obituary of William "Bill" Herman Bisch
On August 20th, 1940, William (Bill) Herman Bisch was born on a farm near Grayson, SK, the second eldest of 7 children to Herman and Mary (Gorecki) Bisch. He was raised and worked on the family farm on top of the Qu’Appelle Valley near Crooked Lake, SK.
Bill married Leona Crow on July 7, 1972, at St. Henry’s Church in Melville, SK. They continued to live on the farm where they raised their three daughters, Judy, Heidi and Amy. He was never worried about not having sons as he always said where the girls are, the boys are sure to follow, and they did.
Bill was an active member of the community serving on numerous boards and committees. He was most proud of the Grayson Polka Days and reminisced about those days fondly. Bill was also very active in the church serving for both Marieval and Grayson parishes and spent many years on the Camp O’Neill board with Leona by his side.
Bill took much pleasure in most things outdoors. He was an avid fisherman, sportsman and hunter. There wasn’t a fish that couldn’t be caught, a sports game too far to attend or a deer that couldn’t be scouted.
Bill enjoyed farming and the neighbors knew that if they needed help Bill would be more than willing to lend a hand to finish up whatever the task was. Recently, Bill became known as the “inspector” as he spent countless hours watching the combines and tractors in the field.
Bill was most proud of his wife, children, sons-in-laws, and even more proud of his grandchildren. He instilled in his family a strong work ethic, the importance of service, a drive to not give up, and that family is everything. He was passionate about a lot of things, but he was most passionate about his family.
Bill will be remembered for his vivid storytelling with sound effects, his love for his community and the life he built on the farm. He will be missed dearly and remembered fondly.
After a battle with cancer, Bill entered his eternal rest on Wednesday, June 15th, 2022, at St. Peter’s Hospital, Melville, SK just shy of 82 years of age.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, Herman and Mary (Gorecki) Bisch, his brother Bob (Wilda) Bisch, sister Leona Krohne brother-in-law Ron Threfell and brother-in-law Delbert Crow.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Leona, his children: Judy (Cory) Kraushaar, Heidi (Adam Seaby), Amy (Jordan) Bugg: his grandchildren Janelle (Lance) Lewchuk, Tyler Kraushaar, Ryan Kraushaar (Carisa Wock) and Katelyn Kraushaar (Nathan Dimler).
