DRAPER - Mr. Bradley Draper of Springside, beloved husband of Bernedette Draper passed away February 26, 2015 at Saskatoon. He was 67 years of age. Bradley Morley Frank Draper was born September 20, 1947 in Yorkton to Eric and Merle (Worden) Draper. He was raised on the family farm at Phone Hill. When it was time to start school two miles from home in Phone Hill, his grandfather gave him a race horse for the journey, but the horse usually got home much before Brad. He eagerly attended high school at the Composite where his life long enthusiasm for football and other sports was ignited. After leaving school he worked for Sasktel and the Wheat Pool. He later found work at Fort San when he was introduced to the lovely Bernedette Rosalie Prybylski by his sister, Gaile, who was working there with Bernedette at the time. He then managed Agnew-Surpass Shoes in Yorkton, Brandon and Weyburn. On April 27, 1968 Bradley and Bernedette were united in marriage at St. Mary's Church in Yorkton. They were blessed with two children, Rashelle and Bart. As a stay-at-home dad, living in Willowbrook, Brad became Mayor for 10 years. During his tenure as mayor he started the Willowbrook Recreation Board, rejuvenated the Gary Minor Sports, he loved coaching ball, and helping with school activities, especially swimming lessons. He was a charter member of the Willowbrook Lions Club, member of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation and enjoyed curling. When the family moved to Yorkton, Brad became a member of the Legion. He proudly coached The Yorkton Cardinals bantam baseball team to a league championship. Other hobbies included slow-pitch, and countless hours were enjoyed fishing with neighbours and friends. In 2001 Brad and Bernie moved to their present home in Springside. Here he has enjoyed more fishing trips and has been a very active member and vice president of the Springside Seniors Drop-In Centre. As an avid sports enthusiast, he loved watching, coaching and participating in many sports. His greatest passions were following the Chicago White Sox, the Saskatchewan Roughriders, and the Chicago Blackhawks. He also believed "Life was simple…EAT, SLEEP and FISH!" This philosophy provided for countless hours with family and friends that will never be forgotten. Never seen without a pile of books and a cup of coffee, he loved to share his diverse reading material with anyone interested in the freedom, enthusiasm, and knowledge that books provide. Bradley was predeceased by his parents, Eric and Merle Draper; his Father-in-law, Frank Prybylski, and an infant grandson, Eric Bradley Andrusiek. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 46 years, Bernedette; his daughter, Rashelle, grandsons Luke and Eric of Theodore; and son, Bart (Chantelle) and grandsons Jacob and Aidan of Saskatoon; sisters, Gaile (David) Reddekopp of Saskatoon, Marie (Les) Peterson of Ituna, Glenda (Cliff) Chutskoff of Sturgeon Lake and Bonnie (David) Moar of Winnipeg; Aunt Mary (Bill) Ziegler of British Columbia; his mother-in-law, Olga (John) Prybylski-Holitski; all of his sisters and brothers-in-law, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service was held Monday March 2, 2015 at Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with : Pastor Rick Gibson officiating. The pianist, Karen Delong led the congregation in the singing of the hymns, "Church In The Wildwood", "It Is Well With My Soul" and "Amazing Grace".
