Obituary of Robert "Bob" David Jones

Mr. Robert "Bob" Jones of the Otthon district, beloved husband of Patricia, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at the age of 75 years. Robert (Bob) David Jones was born on February 26, 1939 at Yorkton, Saskatchewan, to William and Ellen (nee Duns) Jones. Bob received his education at Westend and Central Public Schools in Melville. At an early age he started working for Redenbach's Dairy in Melville delivering milk for different households, then moved to Thompson, Manitoba and worked at the Nickel Mine. At the age of 15 Bob started his career with CN Rail first as a Call-boy then Brakeman and a Conductor for both freight and VIA passenger rail and worked there for 41 years. Bob also was a Grain Operations Manager and during the late 1960's, he also owned and operated a freight hauling service (that he worked at during the same period as CN). On November 11, 1995 Bob was united in marriage to Patricia Stein in Melville, Saskatchewan. Bob belonged to the Saskatchewan Small Bird & Animal Association and the Canadian Pigeon Fanciers Association. He had a special interest in raising fancy pigeons. After a courageous battle with cancer, Bob entered his eternal rest on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at his residence, at the age of 75 years Predeceased by his parents William and Ellen Jones, Bob leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife Patricia; sons Kevin Jones and Dean (Jennifer) Stein (stepson); daughters Sharilee (Jim) Nichols and Melody Jones; grandchildren Jenna and Jesse Nichols, Jordan, Brooklyn, Brayden, Neveah Stein; brother William "Bill" (Bente) Jones; sisters Sharon Besler, Janet (Gerry) Schappert and Nancy Smith; as well as nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours.
