Nettie (Nastia) Mysko was born on the family farm near Wroxton, Saskatchewan on November 24th, 1927 to George and Paraska (Pearl) (nee Salyn) Derbowka. She was the second youngest child. She attended Scotland School completing grade 10. She was united in marriage to Steve F. Mysko on October 29th, 1950 at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Yorkton. When her mother passed away in 1953, she and Steve moved back to the Derbowka family farm to look after her father, and she lived there for most of the rest of her life. Nettie and Steve were blessed with 3 children: Debbie, Judi and Barry. Nettie was a stay at home farm wife and mother, a "job" she relished and took great pride in. Nettie loved the farm, and was never happier than when working in the garden among her vegetables and flowers or sitting on the steps on a summer evening, admiring the yard and enjoying the bird songs. She took great pride in getting her driver's license at the age of 67 as she enjoyed the freedom and independence this gave her. Nettie also loved her grandchildren and Grandma's (Babcia's) perogies were a treat for them whenever they came for a visit. Her great-grandchildren held a special place in her heart. Nettie faced many challenges in her life but her faith in God and her determination to love and serve those around her became her reason to live. She is survived by daughters Debbie (Lorne) Johnson, Judi (Joe) Makjut, and son Barry (Debbie) Mysko: Grandchildren Jenna (Dennis Nock) Majkut, Tracy (DJ) Gabriel, Tammy McBeath, Sarah (Ryan Mackie) Majkut, Todd Mysko, and Morgan Johnson: Great-grandchildren Kayden and Noah McBeath, and Ava Gabriel.
