Obituary of Joe Roebuck

ROEBUCK - Joe Roebuck beloved husband of Delores Roebuck of Yorkton, formerly of the Theodore district passed away on Friday, December 5, 2014 at the Regina General Hospital. He was seventy years of age. Joseph Martin Roebuck, son of Alec and Jesse Roebuck, was born on November 21, 1944. He spent his early years attending Lysenko School in the Insinger area and attended high school in Theodore. Upon graduating high school Joe moved to Norway House in Manitoba to work. He then moved to Toronto where he was employed at Sears and Roebuck. Shortly afterward Joe was united in marriage to Delores Graval at Manitoulin Island in Ontario. Joe and Delores were blessed with three children Shayne, Shannon and Tracey and four grandchildren Brooklynn, Lexie, Alina and Dexter. Joe worked hard all his life and upon his return to Yorkton he managed a local business and farmed. His love for farming led him to open his own business, Joe's Farm and Auto, in 1978. The business was operated by Joe and his son Shayne for 31 years. Joe enjoyed socializing with friends and family, traveling, camping, fishing, snowmobiling, going to hockey games and spending time with his many family pets. Joe will be deeply missed by his friends and family. He was predeceased by his parents Alec and Jesse, mother and father-in-law George and Katherine Graval, sister Eunice Cherney, sister-in-law Ivy and brother Peter Roebuck. He will be sadly missed but always cherished by his wife Delores, son Shayne (Shantelle), daughters Shannon (Brent) Mireau, Tracey (Scott) Baliski , his four grandchildren Brooklynn, Lexie, Alina and Dexter, his brother Victor (Irene) Roebuck and sister Caroline (William) Gerla, brother-in-law Allan Cherney, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Steve and Amy Dareichuk along with many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Monday evening, December 8, 2014 from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Rev. Jen Dresser of St. Andrew's United Church officiating. Tributes and words of remembrance were given by Joe's daughters, Tracey and Shannon. Interment took place in the family plot in the Garden of Crucifixion in the Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Kevin Dareichuk, Ted Chepil, Bruce Davis, Louis Lahosky, Roman Wilgosh and Clarence Fick serving as casketbearers.
