A memorial folder from the funeral service may be printed under the "Memories" tab, then choose "Memorial Program. Weinmeister - Hansel was born in Morden, Manitoba on October 5, 1937 to Reinhold & Mary (nee Hilderman) Weinmeister. During the 40's they moved back to the Yorkton area where he was raised on the family farm east of Yorkton. Hansel attended Rosemount School until Grade 8 and then Yorkton Collegiate. He married Patricia Sherwin on November 26, 1960 in Yorkton. They had four children together, Tracy, Shelly, Rod & Tim. He worked various jobs in the Yorkton area before moving to Northern Ontario where he was employed at a gold mine. After seven years in Ontario they moved back to Yorkton. Hansel was a very social person who loved to visit with friends and family and enjoyed telling stories. He loved the summer season and along with camping, the family went on many vacations. His friends would smile as the Weinmeisters pulled in with the camper and four little kids all in the back seat after at least a six hour car ride with the only stops being for gas and cigarettes. He enjoyed curling and participated in bonspiels in the surrounding area. Over the course of his 26 year career with Federal Grain and SK Wheat Pool, he spent time in Dunleath, Springside, Tonkin, Viceroy and Torquay. While working in Torquay, Hansel and Pat Tendler began their relationship together and resided on their farm for twenty three years. Hansel took great pride in his garden and yard. He also enjoyed his annual fishing trip with his cronies. He was a sports fan and loved curling, football and his grandchildren's hockey games. In his retirement, he also worked for an RV Company, delivering campers from a US factory to dealerships in Western Canada. He cherished the visits of his family and grandchildren, who always brought a smile to his face. In October of 2013 they moved into Assiniboia. In the latter part of his life as his health started to fail, he was not always able to communicate due to his dementia. We still always knew by his kind smile and sometimes mischievous grin, his beautiful blue eyes always communicating his true feelings, or as we sometimes called it "the look". He was predeceased by his parents Reinhold and Mary; son-in-law, Cal Allary. Left to mourn and cherish his memory are his four children & families: Tracy (Larry Kaban), Cameron (Kelsey) & Lincoln & Layne, Chad (Kellie) & Gabriel, Brett (Lyndsay) & Erin; Shelly (Lester), Kaitlin (Aron), Joshua; Rod (Tammy), Chantel, Catlin, Rynae; Tim (Teresa), Kennedy, Jensen, Ainsley. Spouse Pat Tendler and his extended family: Troy (Elaine), Amber, Twylla; Tim (Charlotte), Blaine, Sheldon, Lance. Also his brother Mervin (Jeanette); his sister Janice (Keith) Sherwin, as well as his many other relatives and friends. The funeral service was held on Friday, November 28, 2014 from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Pastor Kim Sherwin officiating. Organist, Amanda Buhler led the congregation in the hymns 'Amazing Grace' and 'In the Garden'. The family tribute was given by Chad Allary. All of Hansel's grandchildren were the honorary bearers. The interment followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Cameron Allary serving as the urnbearer. Condolences can be left at baileysfuneralhome.com. Memorials were to the Diabetes Society.
