Obituary of Kay Pilot

PILOT - Kay Pilot was born on February 1, 1925 on the family farm near Fenwood, Saskatchewan; the 3rd eldest of 5 children born to Fanny & Steve Ogryzlo. Kay attended a country school and helped on the farm. At the age of 15 she left the farm to go explore the working world. Her first employment was at the Motherwell House at Abernethy. Seeking other opportunities, Kay ventured to Winnipeg, then to Saskatoon, where she worked at the Bessborough Hotel. Kay met the love of her life, Steve Pilot at a dance near Goodeve. They were married on March 1, 1956 and resided in the Leross district for a short time, then moved into the town of Leross where they made their home. Kay was blessed with three wonderful daughters, Diane, Dolores and Connie. Kay cherished her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved sports, gardening, curling, traveling, dancing, bowling and playing card games. She was active in the community with various committees. Kay lost her beloved Steve on October 28, 1985. Following that time she continued to reside in Leross until her health started to fail. She then moved to Kelliher in September of 2011 and resided there till August 5th, 2014. Unfortunately Kay's health deteriorated to the point that she had to leave Kelliher to go to Regina, where she fought a very short but brave battle with cancer. Kay passed away on October 23, 2014 at Regina Wascana Grace Hospice with her three daughters by her side. Predeceased by her father Steve, and mother Fanny; husband Steve; brother Eugene Ogryzlo; sister Rose Karpa; sisters-in-law: Lena Moleski, Tina Osowski, Doris Pilot; brothers-in-law: Russell Moleski, Joe Osowski, Mike Pilot, Victor Sallie, Ely Karpa, Sam Bahrychuk, Russell Pilot, and Ed Pilot, as well as other family members. Kay leaves to cherish her memory her three daughters: Diane (Blair) Clark of Swift Current, Jon Clark, Greg (Ana) Clark (& Lucas); Dolores (Loren) Clark of Lac La Bich, AB, Coreen (Nizar) Abouchami (& Kayla & Hassan), Pam (Shane) Stoodley (& Riley, Brody & Brandon), Jeff (Pam) Clark (& Ella, Audrey & Hudson); and Connie (Bill) Brown of Regina, Steven (Ashlee) Brown (& Camron & Lily), Nicole Brown (& Milah). Also sisters: May Bahrychuk & Ella Duke; sister-in-law, Mary Sallie; numerous nieces, nephews, and her many other relatives and friends. Prayer services were held on Monday evening, October 27th. and the Requiem Divine Liturgy was celebrated on Tuesday morning, October 28th 2014, all from St. Vladimir's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Kelliher, with Very Rev. Father Boris Kyba C.Ss.R. as Celebrant. Cantors, Ladmer Moskal & Wayne Boczulak led in the singing of the responses. Coreen Abouchami was the Crossbearer, and Janice Pura read the Epistle. The interment followed in St. Mary's Parish Cemetery, south of Leross with Jon, Greg & Jeff Clark, Nicole & Steven Brown, and Pam Stoodley serving as the casketbearers.
