BILOKRELY - Mrs. Ruth Bilokrely, a resident of Foam Lake Jubilee Home passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at the age of 81 years. Ruth Rose (Jumaga) Bilokrely was born on November 18, 1932 to Max & Lena (Mychasiw) Jumaga in Riding Park District-Grandview, Manitoba. Ruth attended school till Grade 8 at Hollybourne School. When done school, Ruth worked alongside her father on the farm. Later, Ruth moved to Winnipeg where she gained employment at Western Grocers and later at Reliance Products for over 25 years. Upon her retirement Ruth was gifted a trip to Hawaii. "That was her dream come true". On June 7, 1958 Ruth married Harold Frederick Bilokrely of Sheho, SK. at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Winnipeg, having been married for over 54 years. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters Pamela and Deborah. Harold and Ruth resided in Winnipeg their entire married life. In 1997 Ruth unfortunately suffered a massive stroke and remained at home with Harold as her caregiver. On October 19, 2012, Harold passed away suddenly at home. Ruth then came to live in Saskatchewan, first at Theodore Health Centre, Invermay Health Centre then at Foam Lake Jubilee Nursing Home. Ruth was involved in the Ukrainian Orthodox Ladies Aid in Winnipeg. She belonged to the Ukrainian Self Reliance Bowling League and she was a member of the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Winnipeg and Sheho. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her only sister Anne Libich, going shopping or to the cabin. She cherished her three grandchildren and her great grandson. Ruth also had a love for animals, especially cats-Igor and Poopsie. Ruth made many new friends while living in the Foam Lake Jubilee Home. She was predeceased by her parents, Max in 1965, Lena in 1973, husband Harold in 2012, son-in-law Michael in 2011 and brother-in-law Peter Libich in 2008. Ruth leaves to celebrate in her memory, daughters Pamela Hawreluik of Sheho, and Deborah (Randy) Slowski of Sheho; grandchildren, Jennifer (Stuart) Redekop of Vanscoy, SK., Laine Slowski of Saskatoon and Dean Slowski of Sheho; great grandson, Colt Michael Redekop; sister, Anne Libich of Libau, MB, brother-in-law Barry (Ivy) Bilokrely of Sheho, nieces, nephews and friends. The Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Sheho with Very Rev. Father Mel Slashinsky officiating. The responses were led by Katie Rudey and Parish Choir Members. Serving as cross bearer was Walter Slowski and as banner bearers were Jason Bilokrely and Kelly Hawreluik. The Interment followed in Holy Trinity Parish Cemetery with Jennifer Redekop, Stuart Redekop, Dean Slowski, Laine Slowski, Randy Slowski and Mark Libich serving as the casket bearers.
