A memorial folder from the funeral service may be printed under the "Memories" tab, then choose "Memorial Program". KREKLEWETZ - Eleanor Kreklewetz was born on December 5, 1931 in the Insinger district of Saskatchewan; a daughter of Wasyl & Lily (nee Novak) Moldowan. She was raised on the family farm and received her education in the Insinger community. On October 7, 1951 she was united in marriage to William Kreklewetz. The couple ran a successful farming operation in the Insinger district, to this union a son Dwayne was born in 1960. In 1986 the couple retired from the farm and moved to make their home in Yorkton, where they had since resided. Eleanor loved to cook and prepare meals for her family and anyone who came to visit. She was an immaculate house-keeper, everything had it's place and was in proper order, all spic and span. Eleanor loved to garden, and looked forward to the bountiful harvest each year. She also enjoyed tending to her flower beds and all the color that her flowers provided her with. In her spare times, she enjoyed crafting, crocheting and decaling ceramics. She had also learned wheat weaving and to decopage. During their years in Yorkton, Eleanor found time to work at a bakery in the mall. She was a long time member of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Insinger Hi-way congregation, and was always willing and ready to help at various church functions. She later became a member of the Holy Transfiguration Church congregation in Yorkton. She looked forward to visiting with the church ladies on perogy making days. Eleanor has another passion, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Back a few years family would joke with her about soon having grandchildren, and she would say 'not in my time'. Well, Eleanor ended up with three grandchildren and six great grandchildren. In every phone call that she had with her son, she would inquire about the little ones. Even as they grew into adults she would still refer to them as 'the little ones'. Following a time of failing health, Eleanor passed away on Monday, August 18, 2014 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre. She was 82 years of age. Predeceased by her husband Bill in September of 1991; her parents Wasyl & Lily; brothers Fred & Joe Moldowan; and a sister, Mary Surkan. She leaves to cherish her memory, her son Dwayne (Bunny) Kreklewetz of Edmonton; grandson Ken (Jaimie) Kreklewetz and great grandchildren Jenna & Jack; granddaughter Jennifer (Sean) Sampson and great grandchildren Keira, Zaden & Ryder; granddaughter Jennet Kreklewetz and great grandson Cruz.
