Anton (Tony) Raymore Rohatensky was born on February 15th, 1932, in Calder, Saskatchewan to Metro and May Rohatensky. He was the second of six children and attended Torsk school. On October 24th, 1954, Tony married Violet Ann Kozak. They spent a few years in Flin Flon, where Tony worked for a lumber company as a lumber jack, then they moved to Saskatoon, where Tony worked for a furniture store, and then to Gronlid, where he worked road construction. They then moved to Melfort where Tony worked for a building contractor. In 1963, Tony and Violet moved to the Rohatensky homestead, where Tony farmed until 1992. Tony's grandfather, Michael Rohatensky, came from the old country in 1898. His father, Metro Rohatensky was born in 1900, and saw the railroad come across his land. Tony, with helpers, took this railway apart from MacNutt to Rhein in 1997. He spent the rest of his time on the backhoe doing work for the RM of Calder and grave digging. Tony and Violet lived on the homestead until June of 2013, when they moved to Yorkton. Tony's memory will be cherished by his loving wife of 59 years Violet, their sons Anthony Thomas and Robert James, his brother Peter (Iris) and his sister Victoria, five grandchildren (Eden, Landon, Keone, T&egravea and Logan) as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours. Tony is predeceased by his parents, May and Metro, as well as his brothers Mike, William (Bill) and Dmetro (Jim).
