Obituary of Helen Bosovich

BOSOVICH - Helen Bosovich, resident of Kelowna, BC, foremlery of Yorkton and the Rama district, widow of the late William Bosovich, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at the Kelowna General Hospital. She was 95 years of age. Helen was born on May 4th 1919 to Anne (nee Barteski) and Maximum Pucholski, in the Hazel Dell District of Saskatchewan. As a young girl, she attended Hazel Dell School. On November 23, 1939 Helen was united in marriage to William Bosovich. Helen spent her earlier married years on the farm near Rama. In 1967, they moved from the farm to Yorkton. Helen worked at Bobbies, Holiday Inn and the Metropolitan Store. She was a member of St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church until she relocated to Kelowna in 2005. Helen lived in her own condo until the fall of 2012. She continued to make perogies, cabbage rolls, famous tarts, doughnuts and always welcomed everyone at her dinner table. Helen continued to enjoy gardening, quilt making, crocheting and knitting. Her door was always opened to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, relatives and friends. We will all miss her greatly and we know she is united with our Dad, our brother Terry, relatives and numerous friends. Helen leaves to cherish her memory her five daughters and one son: Rose (Norm) Dyson, Ange (Ron) Gretchen, Sonia (Cal) Glover, Joanne (Michael) Kacaba, Sylvia Cauley, Denis (Penni) Bosovich; daughter-in-law, Robin Bosovich. Grandchildren: Dean (Cindy), Anna (Chris), Arthur, Tim (Jodine), Jennifer (Tim), Jody, Mischa, Joseph, Rebecca (Luke), Matthew (Monique), Teresa (Dave), Carina and Susan. Great grandchildren: Trista, Remy, Kobe, Harrison, Dimiteri, Mackenzie, Hagen and Alexandra. Great great grandson: Braydon. Her siblings: Marion, Anne, Stella and the late Jean, Joe, Paul, Lena & Ollie. The Requiem Divine Liturgy was celebrated on Thursday, May 15, 2014 from St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Yorkton with Very Rev. Fr. Peter Pidskalny C.Ss.R. as Celebrant.. The responses were led by Ed Pindus and St. Mary's Choir members. The Epistle-reader was Ange Gretchen, and the Crossbearer was Susan Kacaba. The interment followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Dean Shropshire, Arthur Dyson, Tim Cauley, Misha Bosovich, Joseph Gretchen & Mathew Bosovich serving as the casketbearers.
