Obituary of Wesley Allen Zorian

Zorian, Wesley Allen --- It's with great sadness, his children announce the passing of their father, Wesley Allen Zorian at the Yorkton Regional Hospital, Yorkton Saskatchewan on May 2, 2014. He would have been 81 years of age on May 31, 2014. He was born May 31, 1933 near Burgis District, Saskatchewan. He was the beloved son of John and Mary (nee Achtymichuk) Zorian. Wes' father John was a grain buyer for the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool and Wes was schooled in the district wherever John was stationed including living in Kamsack. After graduating high school, Wes went on to be a teacher in a one room school house for a year. He then ventured to Ontario to train in the Health Sciences, earning his accreditation as an X-ray Technician. He began employment at the Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital and over the many years, advanced to Chief X-ray Technician. It was here at the hospital that he met love of his life, Dianne (nee Nihls), whom he married on May 30, 1960. Sadly Dianne passed away Dec. 1996. Later he worked for Medical Diagnostic Systems Labs (MDS Labs) as a mobile x-ray tech. A position he very much enjoyed as he loved the people he worked with and liked being on the road and traveling in the x-ray van across Ontario. Wes' mother passed away in Oct 2002. Following his retirement he came to Yorkton, Saskatchewan to help care for his father John. After John passed away in 2006, Wes remained in Yorkton. Wes loved his Carmen Gia car, and later his motorcycles. He also enjoyed traveling, watching air plane shows, flying model air planes, music, dancing, photography and playing cards with friends. He also enjoyed pushing snow with one of his best friends. He survived by his son Brad and Wife Alison, daughter Stacey; and Grandchildren Bronwyn and Colin; (all of Kitchener) and other relatives and friends. A special Thank You goes to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of the Yorkton Regional Hospital for their kindness and care of Wes but especially to his family doctor, Dr. A. Vanheerden. Wes made a valiant effort yet died Friday May 2, 2014 due to complications of heart attack, stroke and sepsis. There needs to be more research and understanding of how to treat sepsis. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, Wes was concerned for and helped others with their spiritual needs for many years. A special thanks must be extended to all of Dad's dear friends who showed their concern and love by visiting and offering their greatly appreciated help. The family is so grateful for your self-sacrificing spirit. Thank you all so very much. A memorial service will be held on Sat. May 24, 2014 at 1:30pm at the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre on Hwy #10 East, Yorkton, Saskatchewan. Mr. Les Wells will be officiating.
