Obituary of Rose Theresa Banga

BANGA - Rose Theresa Banga of St. Paul Lutheran Home in Melville, Saskatchewan and formerly of Stockholm. Rose entered her eternal rest on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Home in Melville at the age of 90 years. Rose was born on September 30, 1923 in the Stockholm district of Saskatchewan; she was a daughter to Louie and Madelyn (nee Lacotus) Bodnar. Rose received her education at St. David country school and completed her schooling at the Separate School when her family moved into Stockholm. She later worked on a farm at Kaposvar and a store in Stockholm for a while. On June 6th, 1944 Rose was united in marriage to John Banga at Stockholm. The couple started farming north west of Stockholm and were blessed with six children. Rose took an active part in farming, helping out in any way she could, from stooking, hauling hay and later hauling bales. When Rose and John retired they continued to reside on the farm until 1985 and then moved into Stockholm. Rose was a member of the Catholic Women's League for many years. Her pastime was crocheting, knitting, reading, cooking, baking, watching TV and gardening. Her most enjoyment was when her children and grandchildren came to visit especially on the holidays. Predeceased by her parents, her husband John in 1988, brother John and sisters Mary Drotar, Elizabeth Hustak and Helen Poncsak; son - in - law David Jakubowski. Rose leaves to cherish her memory her six children, daughter, Marcelline Gyug (Rod) and children Shannon Meyer (Gordon) and their children - Lisa Psutka (Chris) and Adam; Lee Gyug (Patricia Ellingson) and their children - Cody, Antony and Nickolas; daughter, Darlene, Jakubowski and children Deanna Pellatt (Edwin) and their children - Jaedon, Janeen and Jairus; Dwayne Jakubowski (Tanya) and their son - Anthony; Danelle Sabadash (Richard) and their children - Tarron and Hudson; son, Darwin Banga (Arlene) children Nicole Gelowitz (Harley) and their children - Jasmine and Jarvis; Shaunna Taylor (Brett) and their children - Shailynn and Austin; Ryan Banga (Amanda) and their children - Cassidy and Kelsey; son, Ross Banga (Norma) children Kelly Banga (Doug); Wendy O'Connor (Jarrett) and their children - Hunter and Kaydence; Robin Banga (Addy); son, Mark Banga (Sheila) children Christine Banga and Whitney Banga; son, Brian Banga (Lori) children Patrick Banga (Ashley) and Justine Banga (Clint). Prayer Services were held on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church in Stockholm.The Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Lorne Crozon as the Celebrant. The interment followed in the parish cemetery. Arrangements by Bailey's Funeral Home, Melville.
