Obituary of Katherine Louise "Kay" Jeroski

Katherine "Kay" (nee Hoffman) Jeroski was born on July 11, 1918 in the Melville District of Saskatchewan, a daughter to Jacob and Mary (nee Cyca) Hoffman. Kay received her education at Reimer School and helped her parents on the family farm. Kay graduated from Normal School in 1937 and started to teach at Istvan School north of Green Lake then moved to Esterhazy and taught for three years and in Duff for two years then Reimer School. On July 22, 1947 Kay was united in marriage to Frank Jeroski at St. Henry's Church in Melville. The couple resided on Frank's homestead near Elfros then moved into Melville in the summer of 1950 where they lived at 267 5th Ave. east for 57 years. Kay did not give up teaching, she was a substitute teacher at St. Henry's for many years as well as an agent for World Book Encyclopedia. On February 5, 1998 Frank passed away and Kay continued to reside in her own home until moving into the Queen Street Manor. On July 31, 2009, Kay became a resident at St. Paul Lutheran Home where she resided until entering her eternal rest on Monday, April 7, 2014 at the age of 95 years. Kay was a member of St. Henry's Church, past president for the CWL and past secretary for the St. Bernard Club and a member of the Melville Horticultural Club. She enjoyed reading, bowling, gardening, baking and traveling. Her most enjoyment was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was very proud to celebrate her 90th Birthday with her family and friends. Predeceased by her parents; her husband Frank; sisters, Mary in infancy and Elizabeth Lemire. Kay leaves to cherish her memory her children, Greg (Colleen) of Yorkton and their son Aaron, Dave (Heather) of Kelowna and their children Amanda (Graham), Jocelyn (Anthony) and Katherine (Jordan), Jim (Donna) of Regina and their son Adam (Jackie), Tom (Susan) of Oakbank, MB and their children Shaun and Christine, John (Dianne) of Cranbrook, BC; 5 great grandchildren; one brother, John Hoffman; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
