Obituary of Frank Petrowsky

The family of Frank Petrowsky of Melville, beloved husband of the late Anne Petrowsky sadly announce his passing on Monday, May 2. He was 90 years of age. Frank was born on June 17, 1931 in the Otthon district of Saskatchewan to Joseph and Tillie (nee Elash) Petrowsky. Frank resided on the farm in Otthon for a few years then moved with his parents to Ituna for a while then to a farm north of Hubbard. Frank received his education at Hard Rock and helped his parents on the farm. Frank met the love of his life Anne Fiforowich at a local dance in Kelliher. Two years later, on November 21, 1956 Frank was united in marriage to Anne. The couple farmed Frank’s homestead then moved into Melville. Frank was an active and devoted member of St. George’s Ukrainian Catholic Church. He served on council for many years, was on the yard committee and a Sacristan for numerous years serving the Father’s at Divine Liturgy. Frank dedicated a lot of his time looking after the Ukrainian Catholic Hall and was one of the long-time Bingo callers for many years. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, (especially borscht) “the family said he made the best”, playing cards, bingo, woodworking and visiting with his coffee friends. Frank had a great sense of humor and was always quick with a joke. Frank entered his eternal rest on Monday, May 2, 2022 at St. Peter’s Hospital at the age of 90 years. Predeceased by his parents, his wife Anne, son Elgine and siblings, John, Michael, Carl, Walter, Annie, Mary, Catherine, Elizabeth and in-laws. Frank leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Eunice Novak of Melville; son, Lawrence (Laura) of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Calvin, Colleen, Barry, Ricky and Chasity; great grandchildren, Telanne, Nih-Tanis, Brianne, Brayden, Jessica, Jack, William, Mary, Brianna, Kristopher and Justin; great great grandchildren, Cameron and Thereese; sisters, Leona and Alice.
