Obituary of Stephanie Fyck
A memorial folder from the funeral service may be printed under the "Memories" tab, then choose "Memorial Program". Stephanie Fyck passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 27th at the age of 92. Stephanie was born in the Calder district on April 4, 1921 to parents, Henry and Mary (nee Werbowetski) Kohanski.She attended Mostetz School and in 1941 married Steve Fyck. Together they farmed in the Calder district until 1976 when they built a home and retired to Yorkton. Stephanie was a parishioner of St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church and a member of the Ukrainian Catholic Women's Leaque, Branch #1. Mom loved to have family over, enjoyed cooking, gardening and her flowers. After Steve's passing, Stephanie lived at Queen Elizabeth Court in Yorkton and with failing health lived with her daughter in Regina for nearly 3 years before becoming a resident of Parkside Extendicare where she resided until her passing. Stephanie leaves to cherish her memory, daughter Betty (Lorne) Palmer of Regina and their sons Cory (Carrie) and Brad (Liza); son Walter of Calder and his children David (Kara), Sherry (Grant) Lindgren, Dean (Eileen) and Melissa (Ryan) Saminook and 10 great grandchildren. She is survived by brothers, Nick (Lena) Kohanski, Yorkton, Walter (Mary) Kohanski, Saskatoon, Eddie (Lil) Kohanski, Sudbury; sisters, Elsie Carpendale, Kelowna and Anne Inget, Thunder Bay and several nieces and nephews. Stephanie was predeceased by her husband Steve, brother Mike, sisters Jean Newirth and Ella Kachanoski; brothers-in-law Ollie Inget, Bill Carpendale, Louie Kachanoski and Fred Newirth; sister-in-law Jean Kohanski and niece Adele Kristof.
