Obituary of Robert Thomas Sefton

SEFTON - Robert (Bert) Thomas Sefton was born on December 3, 1939 in Broadview, SK. A son to William and Mabel (nee Hutton) Sefton. He grew up in the Cotham district where he began his education, finishing high school in Regina. Bert received a Degree in Agriculture from the University of Saskatchewan. He then came home to work on the family farm north of Broadview in the Qu'Appelle Valley. On March 24, 1973 Bert married Shirley Anne Jessop in North Battleford and they were blessed with four children. The family resided on the farm until the fall of 1996 when they moved to Neudorf. While in Neudorf, Bert continued to farm. Bert enjoyed farming, going for coffee and welding cool things. Throughout his life, Bert loved serving on various boards in the local area; although, his biggest joy in life was spending time with his family. One of Bert's favourite commitments was being a councillor for the RM of Grayson for several years. Bert passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, January 13, 2014 at the Ituna Pioneer Health Center at the age of 74. Predeceased by his parents William and Mabel. Bert is survived by his wife Shirley of Neudorf, his son Ryan (Erin) and their children Sydney and William, and his daughters Jody Sefton, Kelly (Adam) Burrows and their children Ayden and Kai, and Tonilee (Jamie) Lario. He is also survived by his brothers Ted (Joan), Dave (Pauline), and Don, as well as his sister Llweyn (Jim) Friars. A Memorial Service will be conducted at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to the Cotham Cemetery. Arrangement by Bailey's Funeral and Cremation Services, Melville.
