Obituary of Mary Rogowski

ROGOWSKI - Mary (nee Pudetz) Rogowski of St. Paul Lutheran Home, Melville wife of the late John Rogowski entered her eternal rest on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at St. Peter's Hospital. She was 97 years of age. Mary was born on July 24, 1916 in Melville, Saskatchewan, a daughter to Anna and Wasyl Pudetz. Mary received her education at St. Henry's School in Melville. At a young age Mary left home to work as a caregiver for the Lemire family eventually she worked for Swifts and Western Produce. Mary was united in marriage to John Rogowski on January 11, 1941 in Melville and was blessed with three children Al, Cathy and Bob. In the early 1960's Mary began working at St. Peter's Hospital as a Dietary Aid then as a Care Aid. After retiring from the hospital Mary did catering at the Legion Hall. Mary was a member of the Catholic Women's League and of the Royal Canadian Legion. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, quilting and gardening. Mary remained in her own home then became a resident at St. Paul Lutheran Home on March 17, 1997. Predeceased by her parents, her husband John and all of her siblings. Mary leaves to cherish her memory her children; son, Al (Jean) Rogowski of Deep River, ON.; daughter, Cathy (Ralph) Jarotski of Canora, SK. son, Bob Rogowski of Melville; grandchildren Angela (Curtis) Andrus and their children Simon, Joshua; Drs. Todd (Wendy) Jarotski and their children Matthew, Kate, Sarah and Ryan; Jason Jarotski and Chad (Kimmy) Jarotski and their son Sebastian; brothers-in-law Ben (Eleanor) Rogowski and Ray (Shirley) Rogowski; sisters-in-law Rose Rogowski and Therese Rogowski; as well as nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Prayer Services were held on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. from St. Henry's Roman Catholic Church in Melville with Rev. Father Antoni Degutis O.M.I. Presiding. Hymns song for the Prayer Service were "On Eagle's Wings" and "Immaculate Mary". Son, Al Rogowski gave a tribute on his mother's life. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, December 23, 2013 at 3:30 p.m. from St. Henry's Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Father Antoni Degutis O.M.I. as the Celebrant. The cross bearer was son, Bob Rogowski. Grandchildren, Angela Andrus and Todd Jarotski did the readings and grandson, Jason Jarotski read the intercessions. Gift bearers were children, Cathy Jarotski, Al Rogowski and Bob Rogowski. The Eucharistic Minister was Betty Crow. Len Gadica led in the singing of the hymns, "Amazing Grace", "How Great Thou Art", "Ave Maria" and "Make Me A Channel". Honour guard was formed by members of the Catholic Women's League. Honorary bearers were all who knew and loved Mary. The interment followed in the St. Henry's Parish Cemetery with family members, Al Rogowski, Jim Rogowski, Todd Jarotski, Jason Jarotski, Ralph Jarotski and Curtis Andrus as the casket bearers.
