Obituary of Alvin Fisher

FISHER - Alvin Fisher of Preeceville beloved husband of Barbara Fisher met his Lord and Saviour peacefully, on November 20, 2013 with his loving Wife, Mother and his family by his side. Alvin Peter Fisher was born in Melville, Saskatchewan on April 13, 1962. Alvin grew up in Yorkton. Throughout his life he lived a spontaneous and adventurous life, travelling throughout Canada and parts of the United States. Alvin later settled in Preeceville to be closer to his Pastor, Floyd Covill and his church family, as he was studying Ministry. Alvin had a good sense of humor and loved to play practical jokes. Alvin was a jack of all trades to name a few: mechanic, carpenter, security and building operator. A few of his hobbies were avid hunter, fisherman, computer whiz, cooking and camping. He also loved to go for long drives to look at wildlife and scenery. Also he enjoyed going to the library to learn about his families' genealogy. He loved listening to gospel music and read his bible daily. Alvin leaves to mourn his loving wife, Barbara of Saskatoon, SK; his loving mother, Eileen Fisher of Yorkton, SK; his daughter, Daneen Cote of Saskatoon, SK; stepchildren, Lawrence (Lyndsey) Brass, Dwayne Brass, Tyler (Rochelle) Brass, Amy (Brett) Brass all of Saskatoon, SK; grandchildren, Adrielle, Lynnaya, Myracle, Chayton Brass; adoptive grandchildren, Tristen & Sunny Cote; brothers and sisters, Francis (Betty) Fisher, Elaine (Andy) Yacsyshyn, Evelyn (Greg) Homstol, Lorraine (Henry) Kweens, Annette (Alvin) Hine, Eddy (Linda) Fisher, Lori Fisher, Bernadette Fisher, George Fisher and Sharon Hamilton. Alvin is predeceased by his Father Daniel Fisher, his brother Ambroise Fisher, his sister Yvonne Clark. Alvin also leaves to mourn many nieces, nephews and close friends. A wake and prayer service was held on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 from the Orthodox Auditorium in Yorkton. Funeral Services were held on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 from the Orthodox Auditorium in Yorkton with Pastor Floyd Covill and Pastor Paul Covill of the New Life Tabernacle Church officiating. Honorary Pallbearers were Calvin Brass Jr., Roger Cote, Dave Pritchard, Randy Laronde, Paul Covill, Mark McEachearn, Steven Remenda, Melissa Karcha, Angie Brass, Amy Brass, Bob Stevens and his much loved family and friends. Interment followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Lawrence Brass, George Fisher, Kevin Boddy, Tyler Brass, Dwayne Brass and Dave Hude served as casketbearers. Alvin's family would like to give special thanks to Pastor Floyd Covill and his family, Raymond Bailey and Baileys Funeral Home, Home Care, Nurses and all staff at Preeceville Hospital for all there special care and attention that they showed to our loved one, for all of those who donated their time who bought food flowers and cards, for all monetary donations, including the Crew from Union Local 47, Atco Structure and Logistics, to all of those who came from near and far and all those that have been a part of Alvin's Journey.
