A memorial folder from the funeral service ,may be printed under the "Memories" tab, then choose "Memorial Folder". Betty Kaban was born on February 9th, 1950 at Yorkton, SK. She lived with her parents, Matt and Jean Yuristy and siblings on a farm in the Homefield district. Betty loved her two sons, Cory & Kevin. She often took them hunting in the family car after school, dressed in ‘orange suits' ready to go. A devoted hockey mom, Betty was often the loudest in the crowd, cheering Kevin on. When Cory moved away to Vancouver, the relationship only grew stronger. He still refers to her as his "mommy". Betty was a joy to behold. She loved family gatherings and was the life of every occasion. Quick to supply the best baking around, she excelled in crafts, particularly needle point, homemade leather moccasins & mittens that she often gifted around the holidays. Betty was predeceased by her father Matt Yuristy in 2001; Ed Kaban in 2007 (the father of her two sons), and David Mooney in 2008 (her partner of 18 years). She is survived by her mother Jean Yuristy; her sons Cory of Vancouver and Kevin (Subreena) of Estevan and grandchildren Kolby & Landon. Also her three sisters: Elaine (Art) Kowalski, Grace (Ken) Ahl, and Shirley (Vince) Meckler; her brother Lynn (Jackie) Yuristy; her special friend Keith Hamer, and numerous nieces and nephews.
