Obituary of Deanna Fenske

FENSKE - Mrs. Deanna Gayle Fenske (nee Guy) beloved wife of Herman Fenske of Theodore, formerly of Regina passed away peacefully on August 12, 2013 at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina with family at her side. Deanna was born April 27, 1944 daughter to Edith and Leslie Guy. She spent her younger years helping on the family farm in the Jedburgh area. She later completed a hairdressing certification. Finding that not to her liking, she went to work for the Yorkton Coop Grocery Store for a number of years. In 1965 she married the boy next door, Herman Fenske. After a short time living in Yorkton, they moved to Regina. On August 30, 1970 daughter Kym was born. Kym passed away in March of 1971 at the age of six months. In 1973 a daughter Lori became part of the family, followed by a son Neil in 1975. Deanna spent her life raising a family, and supplementing the family income through home child care and house cleaning outside of the home. She had a great love of life, the outdoors and gardening. In 2000 she moved to Theodore to be closer to nature, hunting, fishing, growing flowers and helping others. In 2004 Herman retired and she was able to pursue her other great interest, traveling. Deanna is predeceased by her daughter Kym, a special little angel Ryan Hennig, and her father Leslie Guy. She will be deeply missed by her husband Herman, her daughter Lori, son Neil, grandchildren Kayleigh, Brett and Kira and especially by her great grandson Jordison whom she treasured deeply during their short time together. Her loving mother, Edith Guy; her brother, Mervin (Shirley) Guy and also many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss her also. Funeral Services were held on Thursday, August 15, 2013 from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Crystal Bailey, B.Th., Certified Celebrant officiating. A family tribute and words of remembrance were given by Deanna's daughter, Lori. The organist, Audrey Batke led the congregation in the singing of the hymns ‘Old Rugged Cross' and ‘Amazing Grace'. Special musical selections were ‘When I See You Again' by Emerson Drive and ‘I Will Always love You' by Vince Gill and Dolly Parton. Interment followed in the Garden of Memories at the Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Lila Quinton serving as the urnbearer. Memorials in memory of Deanna may be made to the Whitesand Regional Park as gifts of remembrance.
