Obituary of Judith "Judy" Anne Blake

BLAKE - Judy Anne Blake, nee Caslake, was born on August 15, 1945 in Boissevain, Manitoba; the middle child of six. In her early youth she suffered from a bout of TB and was quarantined at Fort San, SK. Upon her discharge she went to middle school in Weyburn, upon completion of her education she returned to Manitoba where she settled in Winnipeg, meeting the love of her life, Stephen Blake. After a whirlwind courtship, Stephen and Judy moved to Regina, where they were married on April 11, 1969. Stephen found employment in the stucco/plaster construction field and Judy was a stay at home mom, raising their three daughters and working part time in various restaurants as a cook. In 1995 she was employed at Wal-Mart, where she continued to work until her retirement in 2010. Upon her retirement she moved to Theodore to be closer to her eldest daughter Frances, who became her primary care-giver. Judy settled into the Theodore Manor Senior's units, where she lived comfortably until her sudden passing on July 6, 2013. Judy was predeceased by her husband Stephen in 1998; her mother Ethel in 1987; brothers Bud in 1988 and Vern in 2009. She leaves to mourn her passing her children: Frances (William), Brenda & Crystal; a brother Don (Terry); a sister Valerie; grandchildren: Tyler, Stephanie, Kyra, Anthony, Robert & Andrea. Also numerous nieces and nephews and her many other relatives and friends. Judy will be remembered forever for her ever present chuckle, her bright eyes, and her never ending generosity and desire to help others. The memorial service was held on Thursday, July 11, 2013 from the Theodore Recreation Complex in Theodore with Crystal Bailey B.Th. officiating. Two musical selections were played, 'Seven Spanish Angels' by Willie Nelson and 'Memories' by Elvis Presley. The interment took place in the Yorkton Memorial Gardens, Garden of Memories. Condolences may be left at baileysfuneralhome.com. Memorials were to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Cremation & funeral care was entrusted to Bailey's Funeral Home.
