Obituary of Mavin Fairclough

FAIRCLOUGH - Mavin (Batke) Fairclough was born to Bernard and Otillia Batke, September 23, 1934 in Yorkton, SK. She passed away July 1, 2013, aged 78 years. She grew up in the Ebenezer and Yorkton, Saskatchewan farming community. As a child, she remembered the dust storms that made the sun look like a giant orange in the sky. She enjoyed country living. She believed the Spirit of God was with her in difficult and good times. She was a resilient person. She always had something in her life to look forward to, being horticultural, culinary or agriculture. She liked to share her practical knowledge gained by trial and error with others. She was predeceased by her father Bernard (1960), mother Otillia (1974) and her beloved husband Irvine (2011). She leaves to mourn her brothers Allan of Vernon, B.C. and Elwood, nephew Evan (Carmella), grand nieces: Stephanie, Christine and Amanda of Revelstoke, B.C.; nephew Richard (Amber); grand nieces; Ariana, Shiloh and Aaliyah (Alleeah) of Penticton, B.C., as well as many friends and relatives. A graveside memorial service was held on Monday, July 8, 2013 in the Garden of Memories at the Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Crystal Bailey B.Th. officiating. Mavin was laid to rest beside her loving husband Irvine, may her spirit rest in peace in the arms of our savior Jesus Christ our God.
