Obituary of Glen Albin Clark
CLARK - Mr. Glen Clark of Kelliher, beloved husband of Val succumbed to his illness at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina on June 26, 2013 with his wife and family close by following a courageous strong fight. He was 60 years of age. Glen Albin Clark was born on July 12, 1952 to Scott and Edna Clark, of Kelliher. He grew up on the family farm, located at NW 20-27-12, West of the 2nd, with his two brothers, Darryl & Blair. With his Grandma and Grandpa (Jack & Isabel Clark), Uncle Ned, Aunt Elenor and cousins, Loren, Terry and Le-Ann living in the next yard, the family affectionately referred to their farms as "Clarksville". Glen attended Eastward School, before graduating high school in Kelliher. While he was in high school, Glen worked for Cyril Hood, helping to shingle roofs. Following high school, he worked for the Sask Wheat Pool as a helper, both in Kelliher and Melville. He worked as a welder at B&B Welding in Regina before going to the University of Saskatchewan, where he received his diploma in Agriculture in 1978. Glen returned to the family farm to work alongside his parents. When Scott and Edna retired and moved into Kelliher, Glen continued to farm on his own. In his spare time, Glen was known to take in countless Rider home games, and traveled across Canada with friends for Grey Cup festivities over the years. He also spent many evenings at the curling rink, playing in bonspiels and regular league play. In July, 1994, Glen met Val, and a year later, in November 1995, they were married. When Glen married Val, he gained two young daughters - Crystal Lynn and Carissa Dione. In April 1996, Glen & Val welcomed a third daughter Jillyan Schelbie into their lives. She completed their perfect family. Glen was a wonderful and caring husband and father - always making time for his wife and daughters. And, although he loved his girls, Glen was happy to have a few men around, when Crystal married Kevin in 2008, and Carissa married Matt in 2009. Glen was very active in the community, as a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Lions Club, Curling Club, Marketing Club, and was a member of the Co-op Board of Directors. Being involved in community events and organizations was extremely important to Glen, and he loved being able to catch up with neighbours and friends when he was in town for meetings and events. In 2010, Glen started his most important role - as a grandpa. He loved every minute with his two beautiful grand-daughters, 3 year old, Edry and 1 year old, Mara. In May 2013, after one year of illness, Glen was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma and Amyloidosis, two rare and challenging diseases. He began treatment in Regina soon after. Glen leaves behind his best friend and wife, Val Clark; three devoted daughters - Crystal (Kevin) Nieviadomy of Regina, Carissa (Matt) Listrom of Regina, and Jillyan Clark of Kelliher; two precious granddaughters - Edry & Mara Nieviadomy of Regina; his father, John Scott Clark of Regina; two brothers, Blair (Diane) Clark of Swift Current, and Darryl (Beth) Clark of Kelliher; his brother in laws, Zenneth (Cindy) Faye of Foam Lake, Garry (Sharon) Faye of Biggar and his sister in law, Zoria Faye (Al Hipolito) of Calgary; as well as many loved aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members and cherished friends.
