Obituary of Kathleen "Kathy" Ford
FORD - Mrs. Kathy Ford of Yorkton passed away June 15, 2013 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre. She was 83 years of age. Kathleen Louise Ford was born to Thomas and Esther Langley on December 8, 1929 at Dropmore, Manitoba. She married Thomas Ford in 1947, and they lived together in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. Kathy worked at Spence's Shoe Store until its closing and then at Croll's Department Store where she made many life long friends. She was an elder of Knox Presbyterian Church and belonged to many bridge clubs. More than anything, she loved spending time with her friends and family. Her husband Tom; sisters, Vivian, Bernice and Donna; and her brother Ross predeceased Kathleen. She is survived by her brothers Jim Langley of Georgetown, ON and Roy Langley of Pembroke, ON; five children: Wayne (Jane) of Victoria B.C., Brian (Donna) of Yorkton, Dwight of Yorkton, Candice Brown (Gordon) of North Battleford, Kevin, (Marrianne) of Surrey, B.C., ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service was held on Friday, June 21, 2013 at Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre Rev. Devon Pattemore of Knox Presbyterian Church officiating. The organist, Amanda Buhler led in the singing of the hymn, "There Were Ninety and Nine". Wayne Ford, Donna Ford and Carrie - Lynn Woima shared reflections of Kathy's Life. The interment followed in the Garden of St. Mark at Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Kimberly Dawn Woima serving as the urn bearer. Memorials in memory of Kathy may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society of the Health Foundation.
