Obituary of Rose Bradshaw

A memorial folder from the funeral service van be printed under the "MEMORIES" tab, then choose "MEMORIAL PROGRAM" BRADSHAW - Rose (Rosie) Bradshaw was born on March 4, 1920, in the Orcadia district, to Harry & Mary (nee Woytas) Popowich. Rose married Leslie James Bradshaw on March 27, 1947 in Yorkton. In the early years Rose worked at the City Dairy and the Yorkton Hospital. Les and Rose left Yorkton in 1964 to own and operate the Fleming Hotel. In 1974 they sold the hotel and moved to Winnipeg where they resided until returning to Yorkton in 1984. Rose enjoyed playing cards, the casino and socializing with friends. Rose worked hard, played hard and was blessed with seemingly boundless energy. Following the passing of Les in 1996, Rose moved to Independent Manor in 1998, where she resided for several years. In January of 2011 Rose became a resident of St. Paul Lutheran Home in Melville, where she resided until her passing on Thursday, March 14, 2013. She was 93 years of age. Besides her husband Les, Rose was predeceased by brothers Bill, Mike, Steve & Harry Popowich; and by sisters Mary Tatula, Nellie Tatula, Anne Watson and Stella Sabat. She leaves to mourn her passing her two sons: Ken (Sharon) of Regina and Gordon (Val) of Regina; grandchildren: Cory Bradshaw of Calgary, Christine (Mark) Hill of Fernie, and Derek Bradshaw of Regina; great grandsons Bailey and Blaine Hill of Fernie; brother John (Betty) Popowich of Yorkton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A family rite of committal service took place on Tuesday morning, March 19, 2013 at the gravesite in the Garden of St. Luke at the Yorkton Memorial Gardens. Rev. Molly Kitchen of Westview United Church officiated. Condolences may be left at baileysfuneralhome.com. Cremation and funeral arrangements were entrusted to Bailey's Funeral Home.
