By the age of nine, Julian was working on the farm with the McCormick-Deering 15-30 tractor. When he was older, he spent many long hours working on a Caterpillar clearing bush for farmers. He also did some road construction.
Julian married Doreen in the summer of 1964. They enjoyed attending dances in the community and visiting family and friends. In 1967, Julian and Doreen moved to the farm north of Kelliher where Julian would continue farming until officially retiring in 1996. He never really retired, however. Every summer and fall, he could be found picking stones, swathing, and even combining.
In his later years, Julian battled some health issues. On April 3, 2022 he passed peacefully with family by his side. Julian was predeceased by his father; mother; sister Sylvia; brothers Maynard, Lloyd and Anton; and brothers and sisters-in-law Lazar Boczulak, Frances and Ned Hryniuk, Alex Mandziak, Orest and Kathy Kotylak, and Don Kotylak.
