PUCHALA - Beatrice Puchala, wife of Alex Puchala, entered eternal rest peacefully on February 9, 2013 at the Pasqua Hospital Intensive Care Unit with her loving family by her side. She was the second child born to John and Pearl (nee Krakalovich) Woytkiw in the Arran district on October 22, 1931. She assisted on the family farm with chores and helping raise her younger siblings. As a teenager she worked in Kamsack as a babysitter and housekeeper. Beatrice met Alex at a local dance and they married on October 16, 1948. Their marriage was blessed with four children who, along with her grandchildren, were the lights of her life. They lived in the Rhein area, Toronto, Rhein, Saskatoon, Foam Lake, Guelph and Yorkton. She was a marvelous cook who made everyone feel welcome and special. She maintained a spotless house and kept busy looking after her family and friends. Bea loved to sew, knit, crochet, and bake and she excelled at all of them. Beatrice and Alex had the opportunity to travel to numerous destinations including Texas, all over Canada, the Caribbean, Hawaii and many locations in the United States. The summers were spent at their cabin at Madge Lake entertaining family and friends. It did become a congregating place for everyone to meet, socialize, and eat and Bea was in her glory. When the grandchildren came along Bea was in her element. She adored her grandchildren and made each and every one feel special and loved. Grandma didn't know how to say "no" to her grandchildren but was still able to teach them manners, values, and how to love one another as Jesus taught us. Beatrice was a devoted Catholic and served her Church communities wherever she lived. She regularly volunteered in assisting as needed, whether it be teaching catechism, food preparation, serving meals or clean up. She was also an active CWL member for many years. She served her Lord well. Beatrice is survived by her husband of 64 years Alex; her daughter Carol (Ted) Boychuk and their children Jana and Scott; her daughter Dale (Nial) Kuyek and their children Jennifer (Chris), Janelle (Cory); her son Earl and his children Kaylee and Shelby; her son Floyd (Beth) and their children Chris and Michelle. She is also survived by her brothers Eugene (Hannah), John and Jerry Woytkiw; brothers and sisters-in-law Annie Achtemichuk, Mary Puchala, Victor (Vickie) Puchala and Merv Krasowski. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents John and Pearl Woytkiw; her only sister Marion Ewach, her brothers Wesley, Stanley and Rudy Woytkiw; brother-in-law Gordon Ewach and her sister-in-law Priscilla Woytkiw; as well as her in-laws Anton and Tekla Puchala; her brother-in-law John Achtemichuk; her brother-in-law Martin Puchala and his wife Suzanne, and sister-in-law Helen Krasowski.
