MACHINSKI - Mrs. Emma (Emily) Machinski of Edmonton, Alberta, formerly of the Hamton district passed away on January 18, 2013 at Miller Crossing Care Centre. She was 89 years of age. She was born in the Canora district on June 16, 1923 to John and Victoria (nee Shelko) Adam. In 1939 Emily was united in marriage to John German. The couple began farming north of Hamton where they raised two sons, Lawrence and Eugene. In 1955 she lost her husband John due to cancer and in 1957 Eugene died as a result of a hunting accident. In 1960 Emily met and married John Machinski. Along with John came six children; five sons, Albert, Eddy, Richard, Gerry and Jimmy and one daughter Marlene. During their early years together they continued to add to their family, as Clarence, Shauna and Kevin came along. They both continued to farm during the summer and spend the winters in Edmonton where they operated their Club Café on 97th Street. Emily loved the farm and she took great pride in her work and accomplishments there. She planted, cared for, and harvested a huge garden on the farm every year along with cultivating beautiful flowers, shrubs, and trees. Emily leaves to mourn her passing and to cherish her memory sons, Lawrence (Anne) of Yorkton, Clarence (Donna) of Edmonton and Kevin (Beata) of New York; daughter Shauna (Dave) of Edmonton; seven grandchildren, Karen (Mitch) Fransishyn, Cheryl (Willard) Yaremko, Jonathon & Benjamin Machinski, Raylene & Paul Lachowsky and Mitchell Cadlick; five great grandchildren, Corey (Maya) Fransishyn, Kyle Fransishyn, Brennan, Cameron and Alanna Yaremko; a brother Harry (Barbara) Adam and five sisters-in-law Anne Adam, Polly Adam, Doris Napora, Rose Adam and Lorraine Adam. Emma was predeceased by her parents, John & Victoria Adam; husbands, John German and John Machinski and son Eugene German; brothers, George, Mike, Bill, Fred, Nick, Dan, Pete and Ernie; sisters Annie, Mary, Helen and Kay and a stepson Gerry. The Funeral Service was held on Monday, February 4, 2013 at Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Pastor Anton Yorgov of the Yorkton Seventh Day Adventist Church officiating. The organist, Vange Shipowick led the congregation in the singing of the hymns, "When The Roll is Called Up Yonder", "How Great Thou Art" and "Great is Thy Faithfulness". Reflections of Emma's life were shared by Donna Machinski. The interment followed in the Garden of Crucifixion at Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Corey Fransishyn, Kyle Fransishyn, Brennan Yaremko, Cameron Yaremko, Jonathon Machinski and Paul Lachowsky serving as the casket bearers.
