Obituary of Jospeh Lahosky

LAHOSKY - Joseph John Lahosky , beloved husband of the late Mary Lahosky passed away peacefully on January 10, 2013 at the Theodore Health Centre at the age of 97. Joe was born in Ladywood, Manitoba on July 29, 1915. His parents Jacob and Kathleen immigrated from Austria and farmed in Lydiatt, Manitoba. Joe came to Theodore to help his brother John who was a widower with young children. Joe loved children as all who had contact with him remember fondly. It was here that he met Mary Roebuck. The couple were united in marriage on September 28, 1935 at St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church in Yorkton. They settled on the quarter of land next to Mary's home place where they farmed together from then until recent years. They raised three daughters: Christina, Marjorie, and Marilynn and one son Louis. Times were lean in the early years so many hours were spent making a living for the family. In spite of the hard work, Dad always had time for playing with his children. Dad loved talking to people old and young alike. He taught us to pray, to love, and to laugh. He lived in his home for two years following Mary's passing till declining health required a move to the Theodore Nursing Home where he remained till his passing. He will be lovingly remembered by his family as a kind, caring and loving person. Joe was predeceased by his wife Mary, his parents Jacob and Kathleen and nine brothers and sisters. He leaves to cherish his memory his children: Christine (Harold) Bates and their family Rodger (Cynthia), Colleen (Glen) Kowalchuk and their family Curtis (Stacy), Madyson, Rylan, & Easton, Cassia White (Tyler Measner) & Kinley, Evan (Janet) Amanda & Jaclyn, David Bates.
