A memorial folder from the funeral service can be printed under the "MEMORIES" tab, then click "MEMORIAL PROGRAM". HILDERMAN - Diane Hilderman, widow of the late Bob Hilderman, whom she loved until the day she died, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at the Yorkton and District Nursing Home. Diane was born July 20, 1933 at Imperial, SK. She was orphaned at an early age and was placed into foster care until her sister Ruth was old enough to become her guardian. They moved to Regina and lived there until she met, fell in love with and married Bob Hilderman. They moved to Yorkton in 1960 where they had since made their home. Diane dove head first into whatever interested her, be it Royal Purple, UCT, ACT or the Bridge Club she played with for many years. She was also a great Yorkton Terrier Hockey fan. She worked tirelessly for the organization as a volunteer for many years. She also billeted many hockey players over the years. She believed that everybody needed a home away from home, no matter how far away they were from their family. She loved all the boys that stayed at her home and had kept in contact with many of them. Diane was an animal lover and rescuer and with that in mind, we would ask that in lieu of flowers and in memory of mom, donations be made to the Yorkton SPCA or Guardian Angel Animal Rescue. She is survived by her son Brian and wife Delores, daughter Lori Barsi and husband Barry, her grandchildren: Craig Hilderman (Liddy) and Kristin Moser (Chris and Brooklyn), Keith and Kevin Barsi. She is also survived by her sister Ruth Moffat and daughters, Shirley, Cheryl and Linda and her very best friend Helen Kachanoski, as well as numerous other close friends. Funeral services were held on Friday, January 11, 2013 from Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Yorkton with Rev. Luanne Hrywkiw officiating. Organist, Judy Berg led members of the church choir and the congregation in the singing of the hymns 'Amazing Grace', 'Joyful, Joyful', and 'Onward Christian Soldiers'. The lay-reader was Sheila Harris, and Kristin Moser gave the eulogy. Honorarybearers were the grandchildren, Craig, Kristin, Keith and Kevin. The interment took place in the Yorkton City Cemetery with grandson Keith Barsi serving as the urnbearer. The family would like to thank all the staff of Morris House at the Yorkton District Nursing Home for all their compassionate care of Diane and the wonderful care they had for the family also. Condolences can be left at baileysfuneralhome.com Memorials were to the Yorkton SPCA, or to the Guardian Angel Animal Resuce program. Arrangements were in care of Bailey's Funeral Home.
