KOPECK - Mr. Walter Kopeck of Canora, beloved husband of Bev passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at his home just 2 weeks short of his 68th year. Walter was born on November 14, 1944 in Canora, Saskatchewan, a son of Edward and Helen (nee Homeniuk) Kopeck. He attended school at Poplar Springs. On September 14, 1968 Walter was united in marriage to Beverly Kindrat at Canora. This marriage was blessed with two sons, Dwayne and Kelly. During the early years of his career life Walter accepted a variety of tasks but eventually ventured and gained employment with the Canadian National Railway. Upon his retirement from CN Walter gained employment with Wyonzek Brothers Construction of Canora. Walter had a keen interest in hunting, fishing and gardening. He enjoyed watching and cheering on his sons and later his grandchildren play hockey. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Bev; his sons Dwayne and Kelly; his grandchildren Tanner, Tyler, Brandon and Brie; his brother Orest (Leona); sisters Vicky (Nick) Zaharia, Violet (Mike) Heshka and Elsie (Gerald) Boychuk. Also his father-in-law William Kindrat, brother-in-law Terry Kindrat, sister-in-law Judy Wallace and numerous nieces, nephews and families. Walter is predeceased by his parents, Edward and Helen, his sister Virginia, his mother-in-law Olga Kindrat and brother-in-law George Wallace. The Funeral Service was held on Monday, November 5, 2012 at the Canora Rainbow Hall with Rev. Father Andrew Piasta officiating. The cantor, Zenovia Duch led in the singing of the responses. The eulogy was given by Judy Wallace. The honourary pallbearers were grandson Tyler, granddaughter Brie and brother-in-law Terry. The interment followed in the Canora Town Cemetery with Tanner Kopeck, Ken Wyonzek, Brandon Haugen, Pat Wyonzek, Dave Wyonzek and Eugene Keyowski serving as the casket bearers.
