Obituary of Harold Bilokrely

BILOKRELY - Mr. Harold Bilokrely of Winnipeg, beloved husband of Ruth Bilokrely and father of Pam Hawreluik and Debbie Slowski passed away suddenly at his home on October 19th, 2012 at the age of 79 years. Harold Fredrick Bilokrely was born on February 16, 1933 to Fred and Eva (nee Essar) of Sheho. On June 7th, 1958 Harold married Ruth Jumaga of Grandview, Manitoba at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Winnipeg; having been married for over 54 years. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters, Pamela and Deborah. Harold and Ruth resided in Winnipeg their entire married life. Harold was employed at Carte International Inc. for over 25 years where he worked up until his passing. He was a member of the Order of St. Andrew's, the Ukrainian Self Reliance Association and Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Churches in Winnipeg and Sheho. Harold participated in bowling and curling for many years. He enjoyed meeting with his friends for coffee. He was predeceased by his parents, Fred in 2000 and Eva in 2007; his sister Cecilia Denesik in 2009 and brother-in- law John Denesik in 1994; his son-in-law Michael Hawreluik in 2011 and nephew Robert Bilokrely in 2011. Harold leaves to celebrate in his memory, his wife Ruth of Winnipeg; his daughters Pamela Hawreluik of Sheho and Deborah (Randy) Slowski of Sheho; grandchildren Jennifer (Stuart) Redekop of Vanscoy, SK, Laine Slowski of Saskatoon and Dean Slowski of Sheho; brother Barry (Ivy) Bilokrely of Sheho and nieces, nephews and friends. The Funeral Service was held on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Sheho with Very Rev. Father Mel Slashinsky officiating. The responses were led by Katie Rudey and parish choir members. The guest book attendant was Carrie-Lynn Turnbull and palamar was Orest Zastrisny. The crossbearer was Walter Polowick and the banner bearers were Rodney Denesik and Tyrel Denesik. Order of St. Andrew's members, Eugene Heshka, Gerald Yaholnitsky and Henry Wasylyshen participated in an honour guard. The interment followed in Holy Trinity Parish Cemetery, Sheho with Jason Bilokrely, Jennifer Redekop, Stuart Redekop, Dean Slowski, Laine Slowski, Randy Slowski and Opy Olaes serving as the casket bearers.
