Obituary of Jolene Kozushka

KOZUSHKA - On October 12, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 38, Jolene Marie Kozushka passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina. Jolene was born August 22, 1974 at the Mineral Springs Hospital in Banff Alberta; she is the oldest daughter of Brian and Joan Kozushka. Jolene attended St. Alphonse's elementary school, and went on to C.J Houston Junior High, Sacred Heart High School and graduated from Yorkton Regional High School. Throughout her high school years Jolene worked at various job and went on to complete her training in reflexology where she opened her own business of Jolene's Body and Sole Therapies. Jolene was a very caring person and put people before herself, it was those qualities that led her to her role as caregiver at Rail City Industries Ltd. Her clients were very important to her and she thought of them as her own family. Working at Rail City Industries allowed Jolene to develop special friendships with her co-workers that supported her throughout her illness. Jolene had many friends, there was not one best friend, "everyone" was her best friend. She was fun loving and very sociable, often developing relationships with people she just met. Jolene believed there was good in everybody and was able to bring out those qualities. Some of Jolene's favorite pastime's included trying her luck, whether it be at the horse races or casino. Family was very important to Jolene, as she took every opportunity she could, to spend time with them. She shared a special closeness with each member of her family and her special companion and pet, Abby. Grandma Rose had a special place in her heart, as Jolene never visited her empty handed or without "Saskatchewan Roughrider" knick knacks. Jolene was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Mary and Nick Podollan, paternal grandfather George Kozushka and close cousin Tod Podollan. Jolene will be missed and lovingly remembered by her parents, Brian and Joan, her sister Leah, brother-in-law Tyler, new nephew Tyson, she loved but did not get to meet or hold, as well as numerous family members. Jolene was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year; she always maintained a positive attitude and this provided strength to her family through this difficult time. Her sense of humor was always there even when you least expected it. Jolene fought a hard battle, but she could fight no more. Forever Remembered, Forever Loved!
