DERENISKI - With much sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our loving wife, mom and granny, Shirley Dereniski on September 29, 2012 at the age of 77 yrs. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband of 57 yrs, Mike Dereniski; daughters Leeann (Ivan), Wendy (Doug), Carla (Lance), Janet (Eugene), Michelle (John). Grandchildren Mark, Michael, Kurtis, Adam, Jacquelyn, Amanda, Sarah, Emma, Kylie, Mikayla, Ben and Ali. Great Grandchildren Jaxon, Kashton, Lowen and Maya. Brother Clarence (Lorna) Wladichuk from Tsawwasen B.C. Shirley was born on March 5, 1935 in Yorkton, Sask. She was the 7Th of 8 children born to George and Anne (Gabel) Wladichuk. Shirley attended Simpson school and graduated from Y.C.I. She moved to Regina to work as a Sasktel operator, than back to the Yorkton exchange. Shirley and Mike were married November 6, 1955 in Yorkton and remained her all her life. They raised 5 daughters, making many happy times and memories for them. Summers at Good Spirit lake were always fun, especially when all her Wladichuk family came down. Mom enjoyed all her travels to Hawaii, Portugal, Mexico and cruises, best of all was when it was a family vacation. She cherished her trips to Tsawwasen to spend time with her brother Clarence and Lorna on their boat and eating crab. She was very active in the community with Jaycettes, Kinettes, Army and Navy Ladies Auxillary, SIGN Seniors Program, House dusters, Canadian Cancer Society and Returning officer for elections Canada. Her hobbies included sewing beautiful dresses for her 5 little girls and granddaughters, picking mushrooms, bowling, oil painting and quilting, but it was her garden, flowers, and cooking her special meals for her family and friends that made her most happy. It always did her heart good when we were all together. Her grandchildren gave her so much joy, she was proud of each of them and closely followed and cheered them on in their sports, dance and accomplishments. They loved their granny very much. It was always a special moment when an ice cream cone was mentioned, her eyes always lit up, followed by a big smile. Mom's sense of fashion and style always came through their dress and impeccable home. We will miss her good cooking that she prepared with love which brought us together forming the memories we will treasure forever. We love you. The Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Rev. Father Peter Pidskalny, C.Ss.R. officiating.
