Obituary of Brenda Lynne Wielgoz

WIELGOZ - Brenda Wielgoz, resident of Yorkton, passed away suddenly at her home in Yorkton on August 27, 2012. She was fifty years of age. Brenda Lynne Wielgoz was born prematurely on April 18, 1962 in Lestock, Saskatchewan a daughter of Andrew and Florence (nee Malinowski) Wielgoz. She spent her first seven weeks of life in the hospital until she weighed 6 pounds. She then joined Mom, Dad and two older sisters at the family farm, south of Bankend, Sask. Brenda graduated high school in Wishart and went on to complete nursing school in Regina. She was employed at the Pasqua Hospital and it was there that she met Ian. They were married in July 11, 1989. They moved and worked in New Denver, B.C. From B.C. they moved to Paradise Hill, Sask. and set up medical practice. During this time Julie was born prematurely on August 19, 1991, at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon. Brenda and Julie spent several weeks in the hospital until they were well enough to go home. Shortly after the family moved to Yorkton, Sask. Brenda was Julie's primary caregiver. She cared for her daughter with great compassion and love. Julie was Brenda's pride and joy. Brenda was very interested in needle work, stained glass, painting and other crafts. She was a good artist. Brenda was predeceased by her father Andrew, sister Marilyn Isfeld and brother-in-law, George Groome. Brenda will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Julie, her mother Florence, sister Doloris Groome, nephew Jeremiah, brother-in-law Al Isfeld, nieces Cheryl (Scott) and Stacey (Nathan) and great nephews Franklin, Eric, Alex, Kaylem and great niece Evelyn. The Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, September 22, 2012 from St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Wynyard with Rev. Father George Chatholil as Celebrant. Organist, Donna Malinowski led the Psalmist, Anne Zaluski and members of the parish choir and the congregation in the singing of the hymns 'Be Not Afraid', 'Prayer of St. Francis', 'Raise Him Up', and 'I Was Full of Glory'. The lay-readers were Nellie Kostiuk & Violet Stoski. The urnbearers were daughter Julie and nephew Jeremiah. Following a memorial luncheon in the Parish Centre where tributes & remembrances of Brenda were given, the interment took place in the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish Cemetery at Wishart. Brenda's cremation & funeral care was entrusted to Bailey's Funeral Home of Yorkton. Service Information
