Wotherspoon, Victoria - It is with deep sadness our family wishes to announce the passing of Victoria Wotherspoon on July 24th, 2012 at St. Peter's Hospital in Melville, Sk. Victoria was born at her parent's farm in the Oakhill district on October 29th, 1924 to John and Mary Mulla. Left to cherish and celebrate her life is her sister Gertrude Olson, her children Greg Wotherspoon (Juanita), Bev Armbruster. Her grandchildren Robin Armbruster (Darcy) and their son Dillon. Derek Armbruster (Renee) and their children Seth and Sage. Jamie Wotherspoon (Graham) and their children Tristan and Justin. Clayton Wotherspoon (Lore) and their children Matthew and Colby. Also many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Victoria was predeceased by her husband Frank in 1978, her brothers Martin Bennett and Henry Mulla and also her granddaughter Leia Beth Wotherspoon in 1980 at the age of 5. Even through the news of finding out her granddaughter Leia had leukemia and passed away, she still found strength to go forward. Twenty one years later she had to once again face the news that her great grandson Justin was diagnosed with leukemia, he was 2 yrs old, she still never lost faith and he survived to be here with us today. Then is 2007 when her great grandson Dillon was born and lived with her in the same house, this was a god given joy for her and was what really kept her going these last five years. All of her great grandchildren, Dillon, Matthew, Colby and Sage and Seth, Tristan and Justin is what she talked about in all her conversations. She wanted them to know just how special each of them were. Victoria was of strong religious beliefs and truly believed that all her loved ones that went before her are in a better place. Victoria was an extremely hard worker, on their farm for many years through good and bad times, the family also worked away from the farm at bush camps, farms and cooking for crews wherever they had to go to earn a living. She was a strong and courageous woman. In 1975 her and Frank moved to Melville where Victoria was working at St. Paul's Lutheran Home as an nurses aid until her retirement at the age of 67. Victoria suffered with Arthritis for many years but it never stopped her from doing and enjoying many things. Her enjoyment was helping with the care of her great grandson Dillon, her faith, gardening and her love for flowers. She also had a great love for animals and will be greatly missed by her cats Princess and Tigger. She very much enjoyed following the progress of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren's activities from showing and riding horses to hockey and ball games. She also was an avid softball player in her day. A Vigil Service was held on Sunday, July 29 at St. Henry's Roman Catholic Church. A Funeral Mass was celebrated by Father Antoni Degutis O.M.I. on Monday, July 30 at St. Henry's Roman Catholic Church. Interment followed in St. Henry's Parish Cemetery, next to her brother, Henry Mulla. The family is extremely grateful to many of her friends who sat with her when family couldn't be there especially Virginia and Elsie, also to all the staff at St. Peters Hospital for their compassion and care.
