Obituary of Irene Dorosh

DOROSH - Irene Dorosh, resident of the Ituna Pioneer Health Care Centre, passed away on Monday, July 9, 2012 at St. Peter's Hospital in Melville. She was 79 years of age. Irene was born on September 10, 1932 in the Walkerville district of Saskatchewan; a daughter of Steve and Katie (nee Hnylycia) Yaschuk. She was raised on the family farm and attended the Walkerville School. On July 12, 1953 she was united in marriage to Joe Dorosh at Ituna. The couple resided on the Dorosh family farm. Irene worked at the Ituna Pioneer Lodge for a number of years in addition to farming and raising their family. In later years, the couple retired from farming and moved into Ituna, where they resided for a short time before returning out to the farm. As their health began to decline, Joe and Irene moved to Regina for about five years before returning to Ituna. Irene became a resident of the Ituna Pioneer Health Care Centre, where she had since resided. . Predeceased by her parents; and by a brother, Ed Yaschuk. Irene leaves to mourn her passing and to cherish her memory: her husband Joe of Ituna; daughter Coleen (Ken) Popadynetz of Regina; son Wayne Dorosh of Ituna; and son Darcy (Gayl) Dorosh of Regina; grandchildren: Renee Popadynetz & Ryna (Jason) Wiebe; Letitia Dorosh; and Samuel Dorosh; one great grandchild, Kennedy McBain; sisters: Joanna Wenc & Lucille (Wayne) Mohr; numerous nieces, nephews, and her many other relatives and friends. Prayer services were held on Thursday evening, July 12, 2012 from Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church in Ituna. The Requiem Divine Liturgy was celebrated on Friday morning, July 13th 2012 from Sacred Heart Church with Very Rev. Fr. Boris Kyba CSs.R. as Celebrant. The sacristan was Morris Halipchak. The crossbearer was Kennedy McBain, and Letitia Dorosh was the Epistle-reader. The interment took place in the Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery with Gerry & Glenn Dorosh, Connie & Garry Wenc, and Larry and Grant Marchuk serving as the casketbearers.
