Obituary of Frances Bulych

BULYCH - Frances Bulych, age 83, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2012, with family members by her side at St. Peter's Hospital in Melville, SK. Frances Eleanor Bulych was born June 5, 1928, in the West Bend District of SK to Annie (nee Dorosh) and Micheal Pietrucha. Frances attended Winthorpe School and, along with her sisters, assisted her parents with the family farm. On November 23, 1948, Frances married William Bulych and moved to the Samuel Bulych homestead near Foam Lake, SK. They farmed until 1960, then built a house for their family in Ituna, SK. William passed away at the age of 46, leaving Frances with six children between the ages of three and seventeen. Being a widow, Frances had to develop many skills that went above and beyond, such as carpentry, home repair, and handiwork, along with all the necessary homemaking skills. Frances dedicated her life and energy to her children. She established a beautiful yard around her house in Ituna. She enjoyed playing bingo and card games. As Frances' children grew up and left home, she spent her time gardening, cooking, baking, sewing, reading, and above all, being with her family. Frances loved having her family members visit her. She was very devoted to her family, travelling to AB, BC, and the Yukon to visit her children and their growing families. Her caring, compassionate nature, quiet sense of humour, and warm smile were cherished by her family. Family members always raved about Frances' perogies and apple pies. Family members also chuckled over the fact that her house was always so clean you could eat off her floors. Her house was small, no mansion for a millionaire, but there was room for love, and there was room for friends, and that was all she cared.
