Obituary of Annie Krywulak

KRYWULAK - Mrs. Annie Krywulak, formerly of Yorkton and Ituna entered eternal rest on April 27th at St. Peter's Hospital in Melville. She was 94 years of age. Annie was born in the Jedburgh district on October 19, 1917 to Alex and Jennie (nee Federko) Karapita, the third child in a family of 9 children. She was raised on the family farm and attended Folkestone School. On November 17, 1935, Annie was united in marriage to Peter Krywulak. Together they operated a mixed farming operation in the Beckenham district, operated a general store and raised a family of four children. In 1980 Annie and Peter retired from the farm and moved to Ituna. Following Peter's death in 1998, Annie continued to reside in Ituna until 2001 when she moved to Yorkton. Annie was always faithful to her Church, beginning in Beaverdale, then Beckenham, Ituna and finally Yorkton. In her early years she was a member of the "Sister's Club" and later became a member of the UCWLC of which she became an honoured life member. Annie's interests included cooking, baking, sewing, gardening, floral arrangements and you could never leave her home without having something to eat and drink. She was predeceased by her parents; husband Peter; a daughter Adele; granddaughter Brenda; brothers, Bill, John, Steve and Lawrence. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Orest (Gloria) of Edson, AB, Natalie (Nick) Heshka of Yorkton, Elizabeth (Eldon) Hnylycia of Kelowna, BC and Lorraine (Ray) Woynarski of Lestock; grandchildren, Bernadine (Chris) Grenier, Susan (Todd) Allin, Lloyd (Brenda-Lee) Heshka, Jason (Leauna) Krywulak, Patti-Ann & Jonathon Krywulak, Garrett (Amy) Woynarski, Nathan & Tyson Woynarski; great grandchildren Traci (Kevin) Diduck, Christine Parnetta, Megan & Stephanie Heshka, Scott & Nicole Allin, Dorian Krywulak and Carolina Woynarski; brother Alex (Gertrude) Karapita of Toronto and sisters, Pearl Wuschenny of Toronto, Mary Wenc of Ituna and Nettie Woychesko of Yorkton. The Prayer Service was held on Monday, April 30th at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Yorkton with Very Rev. Peter Pidskalny, C.Ss.R. officiating. The Holy Rosary led by members of the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League preceded the prayers. The responses were led by cantor, Ed Pindus and parish choir members. The Requiem Divine Liturgy was celebrated on Tuesday, May 1st at Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church in Ituna with Very Rev. Boris Kyba, C.Ss.R. as the Celebrant. The cantors, Wayne Boczulak and Ladmer Moskal led in the singing of the responses. The cross bearer was Susan Allin and the epistle reader was Patti-Ann Krywulak. Jane Chorney represented the UCWLC in the Honour Guard. The interment followed in Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery with Lloyd Heshka, Garret Woynarski, Jason Krywulak, Nathan Woynarski, Jonathan Krywulak and Tyson Woynarski serving as the casket bearers. Memorials honouring Annie's life may be made to St. Mary's Church Buildling Fund or the Sacred Heart Cemetery Fund.
