KITZUL - Elizabeth Kitzul, resident of the Ituna and District Pioneer Health Care Centre, widow of the late John Kitzul, passed away in the early morning of April 25, 2012. She was 84 years of age. Elizabeth (Liz) Kitzul was born December 26, 1927 to Mike and Mary Danyluk. Liz grew up on a farm near Edmore and attended the country school until grade 9. Even though she loved going to school, she left to help her parents on the farm. Liz enjoyed working on the farm and especially spending time with her family. One of her fondest memories growing up was attending the country dances at the pavilion at Fishing Lake with her siblings. She married John Kitzul on November 7, 1953 and settled on a farm north of Ituna where they raised their family. On their grain farm, they raised cattle, pigs, chickens, turkeys, ducks, and geese. She planted a large garden which consisted of a variety of different fruits and vegetables. Liz's pride and joy were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved all kids in general as her face would light up whenever they were around. She especially enjoyed spending time with family. Liz was an active member in her community as well at the Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Parish. She sang in the choir and was the treasurer of the Ladies Auxiliary for 25 years. Some of her hobbies over the years included sewing, cross stitching, crocheting, cooking, baking, cake decorating, and gardening. Liz took pride in her Ukrainian culture and enjoyed preparing the traditional Ukrainian dishes. Easter was a favourite holiday as she took pride in displaying her talent of beautifully, decorated Easter eggs and braided paska. Liz thoroughly enjoyed life by visiting with family and friends, playing cards, camping, attending the Craven jamboree and playing board games. They travelled to many locations as well as went on numerous casino bus tours. Over the past few years, Liz's health began to fail.
