I was on staff at Simpson School at the beginning of my teaching career and was inspired by observing Elaine in the many and varied techniques she used to make her classroom an exciting place to learn. Her students loved her. She always had a project on the go - baking pies for staff meetings, organizing field meets, sewing or knitting doll clothes and blankets and baby layettes etc till all hours of the night! I loved her hearty laugh, and infectious enthusiasm for life. My condolences to her family. - Beth Berg

I had the pleasure of having Elaine as my grade 1 teacher at Simpson School. She never forgot her school kids as years later we would cross paths and catch up on things. When she moved to The Bentley I hoped our paths would cross more often, when I was visiting my parents, but sadly she was not there very long. Our condolences to the Buchholz and Lutcher families. Debbie, Doris & Harvey Quinn

When I was her first grade student at Simpson School in Yorktown, Sask, she was Mrs. Bucholtz. I remember her keeping me after school to catch me up on math and how she would read to us all after lunch every day. She directed many school productions those days. And most importantly she taught me the Golden Rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." I am deeply thankful to have had her as a teacher. May she Rest In Peace and May all of her family and friends be comforted. Yana Porter Calgary, Ab.
