Obituary of Felix Wlock

WLOCK - Mr. Felix Wlock, a resident of Yorkton & District Nursing Home entered eternal rest on Sunday March 11, 2012 at the age of 88 years. Felix Maurice Wlock was born on March 20, 1923 in the Jedburgh district to Anton and Mary (Sarnetsky) Wlock, the youngest of seven boys. He grew up on the family farm and attended Folkstone School. Upon completion of grade eight he decided to leave school and further his interest in farming. On May 28, 1950 he married Jean Rodych of Beckenham, Saskatchewan (Jean passed away in the spring of 1974). He resided on the original homestead and farmed with his son Eugene until June of 2003 when he retired and moved in to Yorkton. He had resided at Clements Court and Gladstone Senior Residence. However, he still made numerous trips to the farm to check on some cattle he had or do some small jobs like hauling bales, fence repair or to spend time with his favourite cat Smokey. He took great pleasure in spending time in his orchard with his apple trees, saskatoons, and raspberries. He also enjoyed his Dad's passion for bee keeping and producing honey for family members and friends. On his many walks in the fields he would keep his eye open for arrowheads and tomahawks which he would proudly show to his grandchildren and friends. He kept them in a special wooden box along with his coin collection which grew as family members travelled and added coins from the Bahamas and Mexico. He loved to attend many auction sales and would come home with many so called "treasures". He wasn't a big conversationalist but had a good memory for jokes which he would readily share with everyone. After a brief stay in the hospital and the St. Paul Lutheran Home in Melville he moved into the Yorkton and District Nursing Home in July, 2011. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Jean, his parents Anton and Mary, his brothers John, Joe, Frank, Stanley, Walter and Tom. He leaves to cherish his memory and mourn his loss, son Bernie (Marj) of Yorkton, grandchildren Jesse of Regina, Brett (Meaghan) of Norway House Manitoba, Jana of Regina; daughter Phyllis Marie Peterson (Randy) of Frontier Saskatchewan grandchildren Jay of Frontier Saskatchewan, Murray (friend Kristy) of Regina; daughter Audrey Prysliak of Yorkton, grandchildren Jonas (Jen) of Earl Grey Saskatchewan, JeanAnne (friend Chad) of Moose Jaw; and son Eugene of Jedburgh.
