Obituary of Peter John Flegel

FLEGEL - Peter John Flegel of St. Paul Lutheran Home in Melville, Saskatchewan was born on August 1, 1921 in the Village of Killaly, Saskatchewan a son to John and Pauline (nee Stradeski) Flegel. Peter grew up and worked on the family farm, then as a grown man moved to Dubuc to work various trades. It was there Peter met Rose. Once he laid his eyes on Rose, Peter told his father that this was the girl he was going to marry. Rose felt the same way and always said that she never met another like Peter. They were married on July 10, 1965 and went on to raise 7 children. Peter's greatest joy in life were his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved to work in the garden and watching curling and football. He especially enjoyed from the radio's. "Saturday Night Get Together" and recorded it for his children. Peter was the kind of man who always made everyone happy. His many quotes, silly songs, jokes and infectious laugh always kept everyone laughing to tears. Peter became a resident of St. Paul Lutheran Home in December of 2000. He lived there until his th peaceful passing on March 9 , 2012 at the age of 90 years. Predeceased by his parents John and Pauline Flegel; brothers: Joe Flegel and Tony Flegel (Dora); sisters: Mary Eipert (Peter), Joan Nolan (Peter), Freeda Goldstone (Ralph), Carol Haney (Ed) and Betty Roluf (Ernie); daughter: Valerie Joan Flegel; granddaughters: Rebecca Jade Wojcik and Racheal Ann Cabana. Peter leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife Rose of Melville; children: Geri Cabana (Doug), Christine Flegel, Betty Anne Fayant (Richard Sr.), Carol Flegel, Patti Flegel (Darren) and Peter Flegel Jr. (Debbie); grandchildren: Crystal Johnson (Scott), Catlin Flegel (Trista), Stephanie Flegel (Ricky), Thomas Cabana, Richard Fayant JR., Amanda Nance (Adam), Andrea Fayant (Amber), Clinton Wojcik, Rachel Wojcik, Michaela Wojcik, Victoria Isaac, Tristan Isaac, April Isaac, Shayla Flegel and Kiera Flegel; great-grandchildren: Hayley and Daihja Johnson, Brooklyn, Noah and Miyah Creasy, Amy and Jordyn Blanchard, Matthew, Cheyenne and Ariyenna Bird; brother: Bill Flegel (Rose); sisters: Kay Johnson (Ruban) Rose Murray.
