Obituary of Norman Pries

PRIES - Norman Pries of Yorkton passed away quietly at his home on Friday, February 24, 2012 at the age of 75 years. He loved animals, airplanes and he loved to help people of all ages. All his free evenings and weekends were filled by doing crafts. He was so proud of his lawn service business and especially his John Deere tractor. He was a true and honest person. He worked very hard all his life and never complained. Predeceased by his parents, Rudolf and Lydia Pries, his half sister Ruth, half brothers, Alfred (Cathy) and Rolland (Evelyn Price), brothers-in-law, George Coulter, Bob Hayes and Bill Pangman. Norman leaves to mourn his passing, his sisters Helen Coulter, Violet Hayes, Leona MacFarlane (David) and Donna Pangman (Sam McClelland). Many nieces, nephews, friends, cousins, his best friend Ivan and his fishing buddies, the Dreger boys. Norman loved being around his many friends and family. He loved fishing, which was his #1 recreation. He will be missed by everyone. The Funeral Service was held on Saturday, March 3rd at Westview United Church in Yorkton with Faye L. Greer officiating. The organist, Laurene Jemieff led Church Choir in the singing of the hymns, "Old Rugged Cross", "Rock of Ages" and "How Great Thou Art" . A favourite selection of Normans by Wilf Carter was played as the recessional. The interment took place in the Garden of St. Mark at Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Tim Hayes, Rob Hayes, Ivan Sereda, Heath Dreger, Murray Coulter and Wayne Nabozniak serving as the casket bearers. Memorials honouring Norman's life may be made to the Telemiracle Foundation.
