Obituary of Desrosiers Catherine

DESROSIERS - Catherine Desrosiers of Melville, Saskatchewan beloved wife of Clarence Desrosiers entered her eternal rest on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at St. Peter's Hospital in Melville with family at her side. She was 73 years of age. Catherine was born on January 7, 1939 in the Grayson District of Saskatchewan, a daughter to Frank and Lena (nee Kosloski) Rieger. Katie known to family and friends received her education at Flegel School and helped her parents on the family farm. After her schooling she taught school at Howard School for one year. On August 10, 1959 Katie was united in marriage to Clarence Desrosiers at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Grayson. The couple moved to Regina for one year then moved to Grayson for the winter and in the spring they moved to Melville. In 1968 Katie started working at St. Paul's Lutheran Home where she was employed until retiring in 1995. Katie enjoyed, gardening, watching TV, baking, travelling, watching curling, going to their cabin at the lake, camping, doing petit point and playing cards. Her most enjoyment was spending time with her husband, children and her precious grandchildren and great grandchildren. Catherine's greatest gift was her selfness giving, to any and all who needed love. Her greatest pride was her family. The doors of her home were always open and she accepted everyone without question or judgement. She was always the elegant lady; all the more remarkable for the silent suffering she endured. Despite her battle with health issues, her perseverance and bravery never wavered. She gave to anyone, anything, anytime and asking nothing in return but the joy of making others happy. Predeceased by her mother Lena, father Frank and sister-in-law Corine Parislau. Catherine leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband Clarence of Melville; her daughter, Glenda (Ron) Yuzik of Crooked Lake and their children Kayla (Tyson) Hoedel of Regina and their daughter Payton and Ashley (Colby) Ginnis of Bienfait and their children Hunter and Hayden; son Blaine and his children Jenna, Brett and Tiegan of Melville; brothers, Bill (Phyllis) Rieger of Regina and Casper (Lorna) Rieger of Esterhazy; as well as nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
