Elizabeth was born on November 23, 1914 on her parent's farm in the Cupar district of Saskatchewan; the fifth of seven children born to Frances (nee Hopkins) and David Reed. In 1965 the couple moved to Yorkton where Alan was employed at the hospital. Elizabeth shared 45 happy years with Alan prior to his passing on October 13, 1985. She remained in her own home in Yorkton until June 2010. She then relocated to Saskatoon, where she resided until her passing.
