Obituary of Cole Michalishen

MICHALISHEN - Cole Mackenzie Michalishen passed away suddenly due to a tragic accident on November 12, 2011. He was born in Yorkton th Saskatchewan on May 10 , 1994 to Morris and Nancy Michalishen. Cole was the beloved baby brother of Riannon (Jared), Devin, and Hailey (Josh). Cole's life was full of love and laughter. He was very close to his family and he treasured every minute of family vacations and get-togethers. For all of Cole's 17 years he and his family enjoyed a yearly vacation to Clear Lake, MB. He also looked forward to Agribition with the family every November. These were special times that kept us close as a family. Cole also maintained a close relationship with his grandparents. He spent countless hours at the farm in Willowbrook with Grandpa Joe, and he viewed Grandpa and Grandma Benedik as his second parents. Cole's quiet nature was somewhat misleading as he truly enjoyed a good practical joke and teasing. He had many interests such as snowmobiling, biking, quading and of course the Calgary Flames - it was no secret that red was his favourite color. Although he enjoyed time spent with friends and family he was also very content doing things on his own. In particular Cole had a very great love for animals. Cole's love for creation helped him to develop his spiritual side and build on his love for God. Cole loved his time spent on the farm. As a child he would follow his Dad everywhere patiently observing and learning. He instinctively learned how to operate even the largest of equipment and was completely comfortable working in amongst the cattle. In his early teens he began working summers and after school for a neighbourhood rancher; and most recently he enjoyed many long days working with the crew of Morris and Eugene Feduk. He loved the challenge of working with large machinery and the camaraderie of a huge team of great guys. He soon earned the respect of even the most seasoned of operators. While school wasn't the foremost of his priorities he liked being there. He enjoyed working with his hands in the shop classes with the intention of pursuing a mechanical trade. Cole's cheerful nature attracted many friends. The "crew" provided endless moments of entertainment and lasting memories. Most of these times revolved around food runs, mud and very loud trucks. Those who knew him will remember him by his striking eyes, his smile, his kindness and pleasant nature. His family will forever remember him as our beloved "Coley". Arrangements were by Bailey's Funeral Home, Melville.
