Obituary of William Negrich

William Negrich (Bill) was born on April 29, 1922 in Shevlin, Manitoba, and passed away on at the age of 89. He was the son of Nick and Pearl Negrich. William attended the public school in Shevlin, Manitoba from 1929 to 1937. He was employed by the C.N.R. in Dauphin, Man. Where he then met Sylvia Smilsky and they were married on November 14, 1948 in Shell Valley, Manitoba. They were blessed with three children: Glenn Allan, Brian Lee and Charlene Marie. In his career as a railroad man, it meant moving to various parts of Manitoba and Saskatchewan. He continued to work for the C.N.R. in 1965 as an Engine Operation Road Foreman. He then moved to Arran, Saskatchewan where he operated his own business, Bill's Coffee Bar from 1966 - 1974. Moving to Yorkton, Saskatchewan he then acquired a job working as an RCMP Security Guard and thereafter retiring in Dauphin, Manitoba. William had a passion for hunting, fishing, flying a plane with his friends and collecting antiques. He was a longtime member of the Ukrainian Orthodox faith where he enjoyed attending church every Sunday. He was predeceased by his parents, wife Sylvia and siblings Mike, Ann, John, James, and step-siblings Mary, Tony and Alice. He leaves to cherish his memory, children; Glenn Negrich and wife June of Holland, Manitoba, Brian Negrich and wife Marilyn of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and Charlene Kryski and husband Gil of Sugar Land, Texas. Grandsons; Shawn, Tyler, Scott and Trevor. Granddaughters; Nicole, Shallan, Kristal and Rene. Great-Grandchildren; Kadin, Hana, Tre, Jakobi, Taylor, Adison, Brady, Danielle, Colby, Charidy-Dawn and Sierra. Sisters and brothers; Rose, Beatrice, Julia, Olga, Peter and Steven. As well, many nieces, nephews and friends.
